Summer is almost gone, but that doesn’t mean the link love has to stop. We’re bringing the last of the summer heat with this week’s roundup offering sites for getting your Labor Day weekend party on. Cooking, drinking, socializing, and even coding for those who are all work and no play.
Wine Library TV Goes Social - Gary really understands embracing the internet. First, for those who don’t know he’s for wine what Jim Cramer is for stocks. He’s passionate, he’s enthusiastic, he’s not a wine snob, he’s real, and he can communicate to the noob wine drinker as well as the true wine experts out there. Not only did he purchase social wine site corkd.com(one of the best looking sites on the web) to expand his winelibrary empire (representing NJ mind you), Gary recently appeared on Conan, was covered in Time magazine, and just yesterday unveiled his new idea — a community supported Wine. Huh? Well, you can work the crush, go through the barrel sampling, and buy the wine and work into the blending phase, design the label contest, and eventually get down and party. From one bottle to 100 cases…it can be your wine. Interesting idea Gary…very interesting.
101 Cookbooks - recipes, recipes, recipes. Great writing, and great recipes. Win-Win.
Paul Graham on Stuff - Mr Graham talks about stuff. Yup, stuff.
Built With - find out what a site was built with. It’s an asp.net web application itself. Good idea. Not sure how accurate it is.
Jquery 1.1.4 Released - And the forthcoming 1.2 is around the corner.
Does the Internet Really Increase your Productivity? - ask yourself, am I more productive with or without the internet? Some good tips here.
Crunch Food - Fake Michael Arrington blog and it’s brilliant.
Generation Z Camera - David Pogue covers a new camera with some really interesting web related features. Think camera web 2.0 (sorry).
Wis.dm - This is a fun social networking app. Simple, but apparently addictive.
Wink.com - Want to find an old friend you’ve lost touch with? Use this people search engine which cross-references a number of social networks and people directories/sites across the web.
Andre Michelle Laboratory - Pure flash awesomeness. The 909 emulator is amazing and complete with source code. Look out Propellerheads!
