Roundup here…get your weekly roundup!
Rejected - Don Hertzfeldt - In the spring of 1999, The Family Learning Channel commissioned animator Don Hertzfeldt to produce promotional segments for their network. In what has to be the most funny, ridiculous, and disturbing (but in that hilarious way) cartoon sketches I’ve seen in a long time… I had tears pouring down my face I laughed so hard. Without further ado, I give you my only link round up for the day — kinda like when a rapper just spews some ridiculous sick flow on ya…and just drops the mic and walks off. I’m dropping my virtual mic and walking off… (ps. you need your headphones on if you’re at work)
Ok, I guess I can’t just leave only one link if I’m the only one posting links this week. So here are some more most excellant linkage as well.
Huge Url - I believe I found this via lazycoder’s twitter. Forget tinyurl - now we got HugeUrl, because bigger is better. (You had to see this one coming).
Sigur Ros’s Heima - It’s beautiful. It’s Iceland. It’s Sigur Ros.
Noah Kalina - portfolio of interior photos from the guy behind the every day portrait of himself fame.
Position Is Everything - everything you ever needed to know about positioning/layout with HTML and CSS. Great resource.
Reddit Media - We conducted our Reddit interview almost exactly 1 year ago today. They were our very first interview - yes, they stole our virgnity. And now we’re interview whores. Anyhoo, Reddit is now owned by Conde Naste and just released a new feature called Reddit Media. I dig it…I mean I like it.
Readers Recommend (Guardian Unlimited) - My friend, Claire, turned me onto these music recommendations from the Guardian UK. Every Friday, readers submit songs which match the weekly theme. This week’s theme is “songs about the radio”. Hmmm… Radio Free Europe, Video Killed The Radio Star, Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Girl With the Faraway Eyes,… perhaps the last two are a stretch… this is harder than I thought.
MorphThing - My friend, Heather, turned me onto this crazy photo morphing app. The results can be really weird. The Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hybrid is scary.
TableSorter - Kevin’s been getting me interested in JQuery recently for optimizing user interface. I think I’m a bit of a late-comer to the game, but this client-side table sorting functionality is rather new and really cool.
Introduction to Statistical Thought - This is a free e-book on Statistics by Michael Lavine. They say there’s lies, damn lies, and then statistics. The average person has less than two legs. Ok, enough… we all know the importance of statistics to measure where we were, where we are, and predict where we’re going. I sure could use some help here…
